Made in Britain

Tradesignz Manufacturing are pleased to have joined the Made in Britain campaign, and all the products we manufacture here in the UK will have this logo.

Back in 2011 Stoves & Co., the last major kitchen appliance company still committed to manufacturing in the UK, launched a national campaign to call for a standard Made in Britain logo to be applied to all products manufactured in the UK.

Over the past 12 months the campaign has gone from strength to strength – with over 600 manufacturers signed up to the logo and backing from a number of prominent MPs including Ed Miliband who mentioned it in a speech made to the EEF in March 2012.

The campaign was originally launched after research uncovered widespread confusion amongst consumers about Made in Britain goods. The findings revealed that half of UK consumers are baffled when it comes to buying ‘British’, two-thirds (67%) want an official seal of approval to show products made in Britain and the majority (52%) think British brands should bring manufacturing back to the UK.

Following this call from the public, in early 2011 Stoves launched a national competition amongst UK university design students and asked them to create a logo which could be used as a standard marque. They received hundreds of entries but with the help of a judging panel of industry experts they are now proud to unveil the winning design by Cynthia Lee from Nottingham University.

Tradesignz are one of over 600 UK manufacturers now signed up to the logo, we are continuing to call for even more businesses to support the initiative and British manufacture and help us take the campaign forward collectively.
